Amtrak Incident Prompts Assault Arrest

On 06/27/15 at 7:50pm Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to Queen City Pavement at the Amtrack station in reference to an assault that occurred on the train. Upon arrival officers contacted train personnel and several witnesses aboard the train who stated that they observed a male subject bite and attempt to choke a female subject on the train. Officers contacted the victim who stated that she was traveling with this subject. Officers observed minor injury that did not require medical attention to the victim. As a result Officers placed 27 year old Anthony Carter of Youngstown OH under arrest. Carter was transported to the Cumberland Police Dept where he was charged with one count of second degree assault and Disorderly conduct. Carter is currently awaiting a bail review before the District Court.
