ANCHOR Group Member Says Wind Farm Would Have Devastating Effect On Property Values

Last week, Allegany County Commissioners President Jake Shade said that the board needed to support a proposed wind farm on Dan’s Mountain, in part, due to the financial impact on county revenues.

Erin Stark is with the ANCHOR group which is opposed to the project, and says it would have a devastating effect on property values of homes near the turbines…

    She would have more of a point if Garrett/Mineral/Bedford saw a loss in values close to the turbines…but they haven’t

      > Everyone knows there are wind turbines in this area, I can see them from my house, but I’m sure that ANCHOR never brings up that item at any of their “informational” meetings.

    I just hope none of the three stooges that currently sit on the County Commissioners intend on standing for re-election. Between their opinion on windmills and their acceptance of the CEDC Economic Development deal they have lost us voters in Frostburg and down the creek.

    4 mile ridge/Garrett Co.; The Pinnacle/Keyser, Somerset Co./Pa.all have experienced lower homes values that won’t sell
