Maryland U.S. Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen were part of the Annapolis Rising Benefit for the Capital Gazette and First Responders.
The Senators spoke and joined Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley and other officials in a flag presentation to families of the victims.
The event honored the victims of last month’s shooting at the Capital Gazette and promoted freedom of the press.
