Appointments to address Judge Leasure’s pending retirement

October 20th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

Maryland Court of Appeals Chief Judge Mary Ellen Barbera on Monday announced the Honorable M. Kenneth Long, Jr., administrative judge for the Circuit Court for Washington County, will serve as circuit administrative judge for the Fourth Judicial Circuit, which includes Allegany, Garrett, and Washington counties.

Barbera further named the Honorable W. Timothy Finan to serve as administrative Judge for the Circuit Court for Allegany County.

Each judge will assume his new role effective Nov. 9, 2015, upon the retirement of the Honorable Gary G. Leasure, who served as Fourth Circuit administrative judge and administrative judge for Allegany County. County administrative judges oversee the administration of the court, budget and procurement functions, and trial calendars to ensure the expeditious disposition of cases. Circuit administrative judges are generally responsible for the administration of the courts within the judicial circuit.
