Armed Robbery Reported At Pilot In Washington County

On Wednesday, January 9, 2018 at 3:06 AM, Washington County dispatch received a call from a  Pilot Travel Center employee reporting an unknown male wearing a dark brown Carhartt style jacket, dark scarf covering his face, hood pulled over his head, carrying a long gun.  He entered the Pilot from the side entrance facing the truck parking lot.

The unknown male grabbed a female cashier and demanded that she open the cash register while he pointed the long gun towards her neck. The female employee opened the register and the unknown male grabbed an undisclosed amount of money, and exited through the front door of the Pilot on foot. Hagerstown Police Department sent two tracking K-9’s and started a track ending at Service Tire Truck Center, 11529 French Lane, Hagerstown, Maryland, where it appeared there was a vehicle parked and visible tire tracks in the snow.
