Arrest made in Keyser Robbery

The Cumberland Times News reports a Mineral County man was arrested Thursday in connection with Saturday’s daytime robbery of the Main Street Convenience Store that resulted in minor injuries to an employee. Keyser Police Department said follow-up to numerous leads developed early in the investigation led to the arrest of  Robert Lee Delawder Jr., 24, of Barnum on a charge of felony robbery. The arrest was made shortly before 8 a.m. Delawder appeared later in the morning in magistrate’s court for a bond hearing. Police said an estimated $350 was reported stolen in the 11:06 a.m. robbery of the Main Street Convenience Store, located in the 200 block of South Main Street. The suspect allegedly completed a purchase before he jumped the counter, pushed the cashier against a wall and then removed all the cash from the register, according to Keyser Police. The suspect ran and his description was broadcasted for area law enforcement. Police reportedly recovered evidence at the scene relating to the robbery.
