Arrest Made in Motor Vehicle Accident

OBSTRUCTING & HINDERING ARREST

On Saturday, June 11, 2016 officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to Market Street at N. Mechanic Street in reference to a motor vehicle accident/disturbance.  When officers arrived on scene, there were people arguing about the accident.  While officers were investigating the accident, Shaun Aaron Brooks, became very uncooperative with officers and interfered with the investigation.  Brooks also refused to listen to officers’ orders to prevent a disturbance to the public peace.  Brooks was placed under arrest, processed, and taken to the District Court Commissioner’s Office where he was released on his personal recognizance.

 

ARRESTED:  Shaun Aaron Brooks       AGE: 38               Hagerstown, MD

CHARGES:  Obstructing and Hindering, Fail to Obey Reasonable & Lawful Order

 

 

CRIMINAL SUMMONS SERVED

On Saturday, June 11, 2016 Cumberland Police served a Criminal Summons on Sara Beth Rice.  The summons was issued on May 31, 2016.  Charges were filed by the Allegany County Board of Education.    Rice was served with the Criminal Summons and released pending trial.

CHARGES:  Fail to Send Child to School
