On Friday, Cumberland City Police responded to the 600 block of E Second St in reference to an assault involving a knife. Upon arrival it was discovered that an argument had ensued between a boyfriend and a girlfriend and the female had allegedly pointed a knife at the male subject and threatened him with it. The male subject was able to retrieve the knife from the female subject. The male had minor injuries as a result of the incident that did not require medical attention. The female also sustained minor injuries and was treated by the Cumberland Fire Department. The incident remains under investigation and charges are pending.
