Assault Arrest

On Thursday 8/13/15 @ approximately 1150 hrs., Deputies from the Allegany County Sheriff's Office arrested Kenneth Lamarr Humburg (54 years old, Cumberland) on a District Court Arrest Warrant. The warrant stemmed from an incident which reportedly occurred 8/8/15 on Ore St. in Bowman's Addition where HUMBURG reportedly pointed a rifle at a neighbor and made threatening statements. HUMBURG was charged with 1st degree assault, 2nd degree assault and failing to comply with a peace order. Following an initial appearance in front of a District Court Commissioner, HUMBURG was ordered held on $50,000.00 and remanded to the custody of the Allegany County Detention Center pending his next court appearance.

On May 3, 2012 at 9:45 PM the Cumberland Police responded to the 400 block of Grand Avenue for a report of an assault.  Police found an injured female lying on the ground from injuries sustained during the assault. The Cumberland Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the female to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for severe head trauma.  Investigation revealed the victim was struck in the head with a baseball bat during the incident.  Witnesses identified Courtney Collins of Cumberland, age 23, as the suspect.  Police were advised she fled the scene after the incident occurred.  Officers checked the area but couldn't locate Collins.  A short time later Collins was apprehended after she returned to her residence and officers observed her inside.  Collins was charged with 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, and Reckless Endangerment.  Collins was taken before a District Court Commissioner where she was held on $100,000 bond.
