UPDATED 8:45 PM – Search command reports that the missing hiker has been found and is safe.
ORIGINAL REPORT:
Allegany County 911 tells us that there is an active search for a missing hiker near the Paw Paw Tunnel on the C&O Canal.
The hiker is described as a female wearing black pants, a blue top, and carrying an orange backpack.
Numerous fire companies and volunteers are said to be involved in the search.
