On Thursday, October 29, 2015, at 12:19 AM, officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to 921 Lexington Avenue in reference to an assault and a stolen motor vehicle complaint. When officers arrived, they found a female victim who had been assaulted by three males. One of the males was later identified as Antonio Dwayne Henderson-Gill. The victim also told officers that the three male suspects were accompanied by a female suspect. Officers learned from the victim that she picked up Henderson-Gill and a second unknown male from a location outside the city and gave them a ride to a residence on Browning Street. Henderson-Gill exited the vehicle along with the second subject and entered a residence but never returned. The victim stated that she left the area and arrived at the Lexington Avenue address. A short time after arriving at the Lexington Avenue address the victim was confronted by Henderson-Gill and several other suspects. The victim stated that the males attacked her and shoved her against the side of her residence. After being attacked the suspects forced the victim into her vehicle and made her leave with them to prevent her from calling the police. The victim along with the suspects later stopped at a residence on Offutt Street when the victim was able to escape from the vehicle. The victim was able to contact the Cumberland City Police Department to report the incident. A short time later, officers from the Cumberland City Police Department located the victims’ vehicle which had been crashed into a telephone pole on Elm Street. The suspects fled from the vehicle after the accident. While officers were still on the scene of the crash, a female returned to the scene. The female was identified as Ashley Williams. Williams was later identified as the female suspect who assisted the male suspects in taking and detaining the victim against her will.

As a result of this incident, C3I was contacted to assist the Cumberland City Police Department with the investigation. During an interview with Williams, investigators learned that when the suspects stopped on Offutt Street, Henderson-Gill, Williams and two additional suspects entered a residence on Offutt Street while the owners were not home. A very short time later a male resident and his mother returned home and were assaulted by Henderson-Gill, Williams and the other suspects. A baseball bat, fists and feet were used during the assault. Both victims sustained serious injuries as a result of this incident. As a result of this incident, investigators were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Henderson-Gill. Williams was arrested on the date of this incident. This matter is still under investigation by C3I and additional charges are pending.
