Baltimore Man Sentenced On Drug Charges

The Office of the State’s Attorney for Allegany County, the Honorable Michael O. Twigg, State’s Attorney, along with Allegany County Narcotics Task Force, announced on Tuesday Larry Maurice Derr, Baltimore, pled guilty to possession with intent to distribute CDS in the Circuit Court for Allegany County.

The Honorable Jeffrey S. Getty, Circuit Court Judge for Allegany County, sentenced Derr to eighteen years’ incarceration, with four years of the term suspended, in the Maryland Department of Corrections. Upon Derr’s release, he will serve three years supervised probation.

The case was the result of an investigation conducted by members of the Allegany County Narcotics Unit. During the investigation Detectives executed multiple search and seizure warrants in the Georges Creek area, which resulted in the seizure of crack cocaine in sufficient quantity to indicate sales and distribution.  

The state was represented by Assistant State’s Attorney Samuel J. Lane. The defendant was represented by Lewyn Garrett, Esq.
