A 40-year-old Baltimore woman was arrested Monday after Maryland prison detectives apprehended her trying to deliver drugs to a Maryland Correctional Institution-Hagerstown inmate.

Detectives recovered 200 strips of the narcotic suboxone being carried by Danielle Richardson of Baltimore. Richardson was charged with drug distribution, drug possession, drug paraphernalia possession and intent to deliver drugs to an inmate confined in a Maryland correctional institution.

The department’s Intelligence/Investigations Division Special Operations Unit received information on Saturday, May 18, 2019 that a drug drop was to take place Monday at the Regional Maintenance building between Roxbury Correctional Institution and MCI-H on Roxbury Road.

At about 2:10 p.m. Monday, department detectives observed a silver BMW traveling on a restricted road into a parking area next to the maintenance building. When the vehicle stopped, detectives observed Richardson getting out and approaching a state vehicle to place the drugs.

Detectives converged on Richardson, who was found to be carrying the suboxone. Richardson is being held without bond at the Washington County Detention Center in Hagerstown.
