The 17th Band Blitz Weekend will benefit developmentally disabled people in the region and feature area musicians and singers who donate their time to perform. The event kicked off last night and continues tonight at the Cumberland Outdoor Club, 31 Thomas St. The music showcase is open to the public and children may attend. All proceeds will be used to help individuals served by Friends Aware and The Arc of Federick County. Food and beverages will be available and tip jars, raffles, 50/50 drawings and commemorative T-shirts will be offered.
