Bank robbery in Frederick

The Frederick County Sheriff's Office says it's investigating after a bank robbery in New Market where the robber wore medical bandages on his face to conceal his identity.

The sheriff's office said in a statement that the PNC Bank located at 11717 Old National Bank was robbed around 2 p.m. Thursday. The sheriff's office says that a man went to a bank teller with a note demanding money. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect fled.

The sheriff's office says the suspect is black, 5 feet 8 inches tall and between 175 and 180 pounds. The sheriff's office says he was wearing a black jacket, black beanie hat, purple scarf and blue jeans.
