Nearly 300 principals and teachers from around the country celebrated the recognition of their 2011 National Blue Ribbon School award in Washington D.C. on November 15th. Among those honored was ALlegany County's Bel Air Elementary School. Bel Air is the second to earn this distinction in the area, with Cresaptown Elementary achieving the recognition in 2008. Blue Ribbon distinction is awarded to schools whose students have achieved at high levels and made significant progress.
