Thanks in large part to a group called the Frostburg Community Coalition the binge drinking rates at Frostburg State University have dropped dramatically in the past year. Lyndsey Baker, Coordinator of the Frostburg Community Coalition, said that she has talked with the Sheriff’s Department, FSU Campus Police and Frostburg City Police, and all are reporting a decrease in alcohol related incidents. Baker heads the group which consists of parents, locals living in student neighborhoods, and school administrators at Frostburg and the local high school. Addressing the problem of student binge drinking has been a top priority for FSU President Dr Jonathan Gibralter.
