Blank Approved To Serve As Interim Allegany Co. School Superintendent

Despite a less than harmonious selection process by the local board- longtime member of the central office administration Jeff Blank has been approved to serve as the interim Allegany County School Superintendent for the upcoming school year. The recommendation of Blank by the school board was approved late Tuesday by state Superintendent Karen Salmon. Blank, who serves as the school system's chief administrative officer, will fill a vacancy left by David Cox, who took a job in Tennessee. Blank’s appointment did not come with a unanimous vote as board members Tammy Fraley and Deb Frank abstained sighting concern board member Wayne Foote’s involvement in the selection process.
