Blank Named Permanent ACPS Superintendent

With three votes in the affirmative on Tuesday, the Allegany County Board of Education named Jeff Blank permanent superintendent.  Blank has been serving in the position in an interim capacity since July of 2019, filling the vacancy created when Dr David Cox resigned. When the search process that began  early last year was  interrupted by the Coronavirus pandemic-  the board unanimously approved Blank’s continuation as interim superintendent for another year.  During the board’s regular meeting Tuesday,  board vice president Bob Farrell made a motion to dispense with a potential search, and give Blank a four year contract to serve as permanent superintendent….
