Board Appoints Blank; Frank and Fraley Call Process Tainted

Despite serious objections with the process expressed by two members of the Allegany County School Board – board president Robert Farrell tells WCBC that he expects the appointment of Jeff Blank s interim superintendent  to be approved by State Superintendent Karen Salmon as early as next week. It was an often times contentious debate and ultimately a 3-2 split among the board last week after the three candidates were interviewed. On Tuesday, by a 3-0 vote with members Tammy Fraley and Deb Frank calling the process tainted, abstaining. Their chief objection is with the participation of member Wayne Foote who is facing possible expulsion from the board for misconduct. A state witness in the case is one of the applicant Dr Kim Kalbaugh.  Farrell, on WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show”, said that  all three candidates were “very qualified” and that should be the state superintendent’s only consideration when deciding whether or not to approve the interim selection…
