BoE Discusses Impact Of President Trump’s Proposed Budget

A little bit of politics showed up during Tuesday night’s meeting of the Allegany County Board of Education as the impact of President Trump’s proposed budget on the school system was discussed. Superintendent David Cox presented a legislative update- and during those comments talked about how the President’s budget proposal released last week could eliminate federal funds that support the After-School programs. Board President Laurie Marchini said losing those programs could be devastating for the system and those children who participate…





 

Board member Wayne Foote interjected that placing the blame on President Trump in unfair, suggesting the problems leading to the proposed cuts were inherited from the Obama administration
