BoE Members Says Teacher Morale Is At An All Time Low

During the course of the just completed budget process, Allegany County Board of Education member Wayne Foote claimed on several occasions that teacher’s morale is at an all time low. Foote, a retired teacher, has described teachers as being on the “front lines” and has advocated for a raise. He says they deserve to have a voice in the process. Superintendent David Cox tells WCBC News that he understands that teachers today are faced with growing demands and new programs. Those additional responsibilities are making an already stressful job even more so. He did say he has taken some steps to address the issue, including regular meetings with teacher’s representatives from each school in the system…
