BoE Receives Final Report From Commission Looking Into Testing In Public Schools

The Allegany County Board of Education has received the final report from the Commission looking into testing in public schools. The Commission was charged with the task of surveying and assessing the time spent in each grade and each school on administering State, local and federal mandated assessments, and determines whether some are duplicative or otherwise unnecessary. School Board President Ed Root said there were some recommendations contained within the final report which he doesn’t view as realistic, such as utilizing parent and student input in measuring success…
