When the Allegany County Commissioners approved its FY 2013 budget last week- it included cutting back education funding to the bare required minimum- an action that has been harshly criticized by local education officials as well as members of the teachers union. Given the severity of the state cut backs- school board members had hoped the system might receive a slight increase from local government. The Board of Education will adopt its budget next Tuesday- and Superintendent David Cox said the cuts being dealt with are wide and deep- continuing a trend that began a few years ago…
