The inaugural fundraiser for the Greenway Avenue Stadium Capital Improvement Fund held at the end of April proved to be a success- but those involved know the battle is just beginning. The committee, made up of community members, is a 501(c)(3) and initiates fundraising activities as well as seeking direct contributions to a fund to be used for stadium capital improvement projects such as the FieldTurf playing surface and the track. Committee member Ed Root provided the Allegany County Board of Education with an update on the progress during this month’s work session.
