A few weeks ago, it was Toys R Us, now comes word that the Bon Ton Department Stores will be following a similar path.
Bon-Ton Stores Incorporated is a bankrupt chain of 200 regional department stores. Monday, a court supervised auction only drew bids from two liquidators.
Bon-Ton has operated a store in the Country Club Mall for many years, and rumors about its future have been floated for several recent years.
UPDATE: The local store manager is not authorized to comment on the developments and has referred us to corporate headquarters. We have left a message and hope to know more soon.
