On Saturday, Cumberland Police served a Bench Warrant on Geri Crites, age 32, of the city.

Cc wants to know, “Tell me again why we waste our resources for crap like this when our local justice system does absolutely nothing other than smack their hand and send them home with a probation before judgement or a stet docket.”

The Eight Amendment of the US Constitution prohibits “excessive bail, excessive fines, or cruel and unusual punishments.”

Loosely translated, the Eighth Amendment states that the punishment must fit the crime. In order to change that we would have to amend the Constitution. Should we institute something like Sharia Law where a person would have their hands cut off for theft?

Is that the America you want to see?
