Braddock Road Construction

March 30th, 2016 by WCBC Radio

The Cumberland Times News reports the Maryland Department of Transportation is providing the remaining $375,000 needed to fund a highway project at Exit 33 of Interstate 68, the main entrance to Frostburg State University.

"We keep moving further and further ahead with economic development in the community," said Frostburg Mayor Robert Flanigan. "It's a chance to add jobs by developing a piece of property along the interstate."

The project will expand Braddock Road by adding four lanes that connect Interstate 68 to the entrance of FSU while providing access to a 12-acre undeveloped property. With a modern entry to the land adjacent to the university, developers will have a reason to invest, officials said.
