BREAKING: Garrett County Declares State of Emergency

After confirming two positive cases of COVID-19, The Garrett County Commissioners have declared a State of Emergency, effective Sunday, March 22, 2020 at 5:00 PM.

The announcement was made by Commission Chairman Paul Edwards, who was joined by fellow Commissioner Larry Tichnell, County Health Officer Bob Stephens, and Garrett Regional Medical Center CEO Mark Boucot.

The directive allows for the extraordinary use of county resources to aid in the emergency.  Additional public restrictions were not announced during the press conference.
