BREAKING: Hogan Tabs Bean as District Court Judge

Governor Larry Hogan today announced he has selected Erich Bean as judicial appointee for the Allegany County District Court. The governor made the appointment after interviewing nominees submitted by the Judicial Nominating Commission for Allegany and Garrett Counties.
 
“The appointment of qualified individuals to serve across our state’s justice system is paramount to upholding our responsibilities to the people of Maryland and the rule of law,” said Governor Hogan. “I have confidence that Mr. Bean will be a strong advocate for the law and will serve the citizens of Allegany County admirably.”
 
Erich Michael Bean has served as a prosecutor for his entire career. After graduating from law school, he began as the head law clerk in the homicide division for the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office, later becoming an assistant state’s attorney. He later accepted a position at the Allegany County State’s Attorney’s Office, where he has worked for the past nine years. He received his B.A. from Frostburg State University and his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
