BREAKING: PSC Conducts Three Hour Wind Hearing

May 20th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

The Maryland Public Service Commission conducted a three hour public hearing on the application of Dan's Mountain Wind Force for an exemption from the requirement to obtain a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity last evening. The hearing is the latest attempt to move forward a proposed wind farm project for the top of Dan's Mountain.

The first half of the meeting featured supporters and opponents alternating testimony, but the second half was dominated by those opposed to the project, with much of the opposition coming from the citizen group ANCHOR. Positive comments focused on the economic benefits to the county via employment and taxes. Public Utility Law Judge Chuck McLean announced that written comments would be accepted through May 29.
