Secretary of Budget and Management David Brinkley defended the budget released last week by Governor Larry Hogan- disputing much of the criticisms. Brinkley said that the challenge any governor is going to have is following the formulas that the legislature requires the governor to fund, and Governor Hogan has fulfilled those obligations. He said the mission is to find opportunities to flatten the increase in spending. One of the main points of criticism on this budget is that it cuts education funding. Individual school districts have voiced their concerns about the cuts.
