On Saturday, at 8:55 AM, Cumberland Police responded to the 100 block of Columbia Street for a burglary complaint. Upon arrival officers made contact with the complainants who had heard noise inside a vacant address. Officers then located an open door leading into the residence. They then entered the residence and found Matthew Norris, age 46 of Cumberland, Maryland inside. Officers confirmed that Norris did not live there and did not have permission from the owner to be inside. Subsequently, Norris was placed under arrest for fourth degree burglary. Norris was later taken before a District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance and held on $5000 bond.
