The Mineral Dailey News Tribune reports that operational hours at the New Creek Post Office will be reduced to six hours a day beginning in January. Exactly what those hours will be is yet to be determined. Patty Jessee, manager of post office operations for the U.S. Postal Service, conducted the public meeting held Thursday evening at the New Creek Fire Hall in followup to surveys that were mailed out to New Creek postal customers in regard to the future of the post office. She told the small crowd gathered at the fire hall that declining revenues due to more and more customers using other shipping companies and conducting online business transactions is resulting in the need to realign the Postal Service operations.
