C3I Investigating Late Sunday Evening Shooting

On 6/3/18 at 10:29pm Cumberland Police Officers as well as the Cumberland Fire Department responded to the Decatur Street area for the report of a shooting victim.  Upon arrival, officers  discovered an 18 year old male who had been shot.  The victim was treated by the Cumberland Fire Department at teh scene and transported to the hospital.  Subsequent investigation revealed that the victim was walking in the area of Baltimore Street and Altamont Terrace when he became involved in an altercation and was shot.  CPD Officers along with Deputies from the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office and Troopers from the Maryland State Police began to search the area and were able to locate the crime scene and evidence of the crime.  The victim suffered minimal injuries and has been treated and released from the hospital.  The case is currently under investigation by the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation (C3I) unit.  Anyone having information on this matter is asked to contact the Cumberland Police at 301-777-1600.
