C3I Makes Arrest In Sex Case

June 22nd, 2015 by WCBC Radio

On Sunday, 06/21/2015, members of the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I) arrested 32 year old Joshua Nick Slifco, of Cumberland, and charged him with Sexual Abuse of a Minor, 3rd Degree Sex Offense, and 4th Degree Sex Offense.

The charges stem from an investigation that began on Sunday when the 15 year old female victim and her mother first reported to the Cumberland Police that Slifco had engaged in an inappropriate relationship with the victim, which included sending nude photos and videos via text, and sexual contact. The Cumberland Police requested the assistance of C3I, and a joint investigation was initiated by Child Protective Services and C3I.

C3I Investigators were able to recover photo and video evidence. They also obtained and served a search warrant at the suspect’s residence and recovered additional items of evidence.

The suspect was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance, and had a bond review before a District Court Judge on Monday, 06/22/2015. He remains incarcerated in the Allegany County Detention Center on $35,000.00 bond, pending his next court appearance.

The investigation is continuing by C3I.
