C3I Makes Prostitution Arrest

June 20th, 2013 by WCBC Radio

On Wednesday night, 06/19/2013, Investigators with the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I) arrested 44 year old Shannon Leigh Wilson, of Frederick, on charges of Prostitution.

C3I Investigators were alerted to the possibility that Wilson was engaged in prostitution after being advised that she was advertising on the website “westernmaryland.backpages.com”. Investigators in a covert capacity began communicating on-line with Wilson and quickly learned that there was enough information to support the allegations.

Investigators arranged a meeting with Wilson at which time she advised an undercover Investigator what services she was offering in exchange for payment. After the undercover Investigator accepted payment up front, she was placed under arrest.

Investigators obtained and served a search and seizure warrant at the apartment Wilson was renting locally and recovered additional evidence, including computers, cell phones, and photos.

C3I Investigators were assisted by the Maryland State Police and the Cumberland Police.

Wilson was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance. She was released on personal recognizance and is free pending her next court appearance.

The investigation is continuing.
