Canal Place Authority Hears Proposal To Locate Local Bus Transit Hub At WMSR Station

The Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority Tuesday heard a proposal to locate a transit hub for local buses near the Western Maryland Railroad Station.

    I’m sorry but that sounds odd taking up non-existant space in an already crowded area for local buses. Why not build the hub in the proposed Rolling Mills area. There is plenty of unused land there. If necessary a shuttle can run from there to Canal Place. Why add congestion and traffic unless the real goal is an infusion of funds to Canal Place?

    Oh great, lets build something to bring even more of the indigent populas to heart of our tourist center and show case more of Cumberland’s finest. When are we going to accept the FACT this type of thinking has/had an impact on why downtown struggles to attract people with spending money. Until this issue is addressed, opening Baltimore St. and any other ED measure DT is just a waste of time and money.
