If all goes as planned, the Canal Place Development and Preservation Authority hopes to put out a second request for proposals next month for the redevelopment of the Footer Dye Works building. In February, there had been optimism that any number of proposals would be submitted for review- however although 19 bid packages were requested, none were received by the deadline. The lack of parking as well as challenges presented for expansion due to a contract existing on the adjacent lot known as Parcel B were cited as the primary obstacles for developers. An option contract for Parcel B, held by the Fiori Family of Altoona, Pa., is set to expire in August 2013.
