Six of the eight active candidates seeking a seat on Cumberland’s City Council participated in a public forum Monday night. The event, sponsored by WCBC Radio and the Allegany County Chamber of Commerce, is the only public candidate’s forum prior to the April 3rd primary. A wide range of issues were presented to, essentially a field of six political newcomers as there are no incumbents in this year’s contest. Marc Nelson, a local political observer and video news correspondent, was among those in attendance. He said he came away from the two hour forum somewhat disappointed as most of the candidates failed to grasp some of the key issues…
