Car Hits Pole in LaVale, Alcohol Suspected as Contributing Factor

Early Sunday, just after 3:30 AM, troopers from the Maryland State Police Cumberland Barrack and emergency medical services (EMS) responded to the 500 block of National Hwy, LaVale, Allegany County, Maryland, for a reported single vehicle personal injury collision. Responding Troopers and EMS located a Subaru passenger vehicle crashed into a utility pole. The vehicle was driven by a single occupant, Aaron Morgan (24 YOA of LaVale, MD).

Morgan was transported to UPMC Western Maryland for non-life threatening injuries. Initial investigation revealed Morgan was travelling Westbound when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a utility pole off of the Westbound shoulder. Morgan was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and was charged accordingly.
