Cardin to Host Series of Discussions on Supreme Court Nominee’s Potential Implications for Maryland

August 10th, 2018 by WCBC Radio

Tuesday, August 14, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin will lead three discussions with Maryland community leaders and advocates exploring the potential impacts of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on civil rights, environmental quality, human rights, workers’ protections, women’s and reproductive rights, and more. Senator Cardin will outline the unprecedented efforts by Republican leaders to prevent the disclosure of thousands of pages of documents related to Judge Kavanaugh’s record on key issues, along with the GOP’s refusal to work in a bipartisan fashion to facilitate the critical “advice and consent” function of the U.S. Senate. Senator Cardin also will listen to the concerns of constituents and hear firsthand about the laws in potential jeopardy that matter most to Marylanders
