Maryland Senator Ben Cardin, a Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee said recently that it is important that special counsel Robert Mueller can complete his investigation into potential ties between Russia and President Trump’s 2016 campaign without any interference from the White House. The push to protect Mr. Mueller has picked up speed in the past week with the President saying that the FBI had secretly placed a confidential source in his 2016 campaign.
