CEDC Attempting To Find Solutions To Work Force Development

Although most of the focus of the Cumberland Economic Development Corporation in the past few years has centered on the Rolling Mill redevelopment project and the proposed re-design of the Downtown Mall- another top priority has been work force development. The pendulum has shifted in recent years from a time when there were not enough jobs in the region, forcing young people to leave the area in search of employment.  The problem now is that there are not enough people in the county qualified to fill the hundreds of good paying jobs that are open. CEDC executive director Paul Kelly says the organization has been meeting routinely with manufacturers in attempting to find some solutions…

    This problem is easily solved; we can all vote Democrat and go back to the no jobs situation with which we had become comfortable.
