Officials with the Cumberland Economic Development Corp. and Allegany County government are continuing negotiations to merge their business recruitment efforts. Paul Kelly, executive director of the nonprofit CEDC, and Matt Miller, with the CEDC, met recently in closed session with the commissioners, HRDC representatives and the county’s attorneys working toward finalizing an arrangement that will essentially merge the city of Cumberland and Allegany County business recruitment and economic expansion.
