CEDC Holds Informational Session: No Confrontation Over Rolling Mill

September 25th, 2017 by WCBC Radio

The Cumberland Economic Development Corporation staff held a public informational session at City Hall Monday afternoon.

About 25 residents and officials showed up for the meeting, but those expecting a showdown between the CEDC and residents of the Rolling Mill area of the city will have to wait.

Following the meeting, Executive Director Paul X. Kelly, Jr, told the media that he has had very civil discussions with Rolling Mill neighborhood organizer Woody Gordon, but to date, there has only been an agreement to disagree.

Kelly says he has not heard from other holdout property owners, but has an open door if they want to discuss the situation.

Topics today included a general overview of the CEDC, a discussion of historical properties, and public comments considering the direction of the city and better integration with tourism and the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad.
