Child Runs From Frostburg Residence To Alert Police To Assaut

On Saturday at 2:17 a.m., Frostburg City Police responded to a Taylor Street residence for a reported domestic disturbance.

A child had ran from the residence to the Frostburg City Police station on foot with no shoes on and notified police that his parents were fighting, prompting the police response. Upon investigating at the scene, police learned that James William Roy, 34, of Frostburg had grabbed an adult female victim at the residence, forced her to the ground, and struck her in the side of the face with a closed fist following an argument.

The female reported that she attempted to flee the residence, but that Roy stopped her, continuing the assault. Police observed injuries consistent with the account of events provided and placed James Roy under arrest. Roy was charged with second-degree assault. He was presented to a District Court Commissioner and held without bond.

He is currently being held at the Allegany County Detention Center. Frostburg City Police were assisted by the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office. Child Protective Services was also notified of the incident and responded to the residence.
