On Thursday, the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigation Division conducted an investigation regarding a child sex offense. Patrick Michael Gary, 65, Swanton, was arrested and charged with sexual abuse of a minor, child abuse, attempted second-degree rape, perverted practices, third-degree sex offense, fourth-degree sex offense and second-degree assault.
Gary was arrested in the Oakland area and is currently in Garrett County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
Investigators were assisted by the Garrett County States Attorney’s Office and the Department of Social Services.
