On Friday January 4, 2013, Cumberland City Police served a criminal summons on Sarah Peterson, age 27 of Cumberland. The charges were filed by a private citizen who alleged that Peterson stole two dogs from her. The incident took place on December 24, 2012 at the victim’s residence on Virginia Avenue. The victim was selling the dogs and Peterson asked the victim if she could take them home to show her family. Peterson subsequently took the dogs and failed to return them after the victim made efforts to contact her for payment of the dogs. Peterson was served and was released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.

CHARGE: Theft Less Than $1,000.00 dollars.
