City Council Sees Another Possible Sewer Rate Hike

It was a mixed bag presented to the Cumberland City Council Tuesday afternoon as the city officials got a look at the recommended FY 2016 budget from staff. City Administrator Jeff Rhodes said there were some positives and some negatives, but overall the fiscal picture remains relatively healthy moving forward. No tax hikes are recommended, but again city residents could see a hike in the sewer rate- this time of ten percent. That equates only to an increase of a little more than $4 per utility bill.
